The new BMW 7 Series is regarded as one of the most technically refined vehicles produced by the German car industry. No expense has been spared to give Bavaria’s luxury sedan the latest in technology. So the FAG Automotive Division is proud that BMW relies on the latest pulse-generating FAG wheel bearings, for its all-important chassis technology.

The special feature of the front axle bearing is the steel pulse generator incorporated in the rubber seal. During driving, it supplies the pulses needed by the ABS, ASR and ESP systems. The bearings themselves are optimised using special hardening techniques, so they can easily withstand the high lateral acceleration forces generated by the BMW’s dynamic design.

A feature that is particularly important for high strength and smooth running is the orbitally formed shoulder developed by FAG. Advantage: bearing and stub are made out of one piece, thus eliminating unwanted vibrations.
